
Grizzlies Back Home Wednesday After Busy Week In Community

This Past Week:
The Grizzlies had no games scheduled this past week. Instead, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie kept the team busy practicing, working out and spending time in the community.
This Week:
Wednesday: Idaho @ Utah, 7:05 p.m.
Friday: Alaska @ Utah, 7:05 p.m.
Saturday: Alaska @ Utah, 7:05 p.m.
News and Notes:
With no games scheduled, the Grizzlies had 14 events in the community on the schedule. Below is a recap:
Tuesday, December 5
School Assembly (Herriman Elementary) - Team captain Ed Campbell and mascot Grizzbee presented the school assembly, "Hockey Is A Lot Like Life" to the students at Herriman Elementary. Campbell talked to the students about setting goals, using teamwork, believing in themselves and staying away from drugs. In addition, each student was given a free ticket to the Grizzlies game this Friday versus Alaska.
Grizz Kids Service Project - Goaltender Sean Fields and forward Brandon Tidball joined the Grizzlies official Kids Club, "Grizz Kids" in their annual service project. The group, in conjunction with, "Operation We Love Our Soldiers" wrote letters and drew pictures for United States Servicemen overseas. Following the service project, Tidball and Fields joined the kids on the E-Center ice for a skate.
Jordan High School Sports Marketing Class - Utah Grizzlies play-by-play broadcaster Adrian Denny completed week number six of the Utah Grizzlies High School Marketing Program with Wayne Dittmore's class at Jordan High School. Denny helped the students put the final touches on their school's game night, which will be this Wednesday when Utah hosts Idaho. The sports marketing class will shadow the Grizzlies front office and assist in putting on the game from "behind the scenes."
Wednesday, December 6
School Assembly (Bonneville Elementary) - Left Wing Brad Herauf conducted the school assembly, "Hockey Is A Lot Like Life."
Grizzbee Visits Utah Grizzlies Radio 860 AM - Team mascot Grizzbee visited the staff at the Grizzlies flagship radio station, Utah Grizzlies Radio 860 AM, and Citadel Broadcasting.
Youth Support System Visit - Forward Mikael Zettergren visited youth at the Youth Support System in Salt Lake City. He talked with them about staying away from drugs and staying out of trouble.
Thursday, December 7
School Assembly (Meadowbrook Elementary) - Brandon Tidball and mascot Grizzbee conducted the school assembly, "Hockey Is A Lot Like Life."
Fit Factor Visit - Left wing D.J. Jelitto visited Hill Air Force Base where he gave a hockey demonstration to the children in the "Fit Factor" program and talked with them about the importance of eating right and staying in good shape.
Rycroft on the Radio - Right wing and assistant captain Travis Rycroft made his weekly visit with the 1320 AM KFAN "Sports Beef." Rycroft appears weekly with Ben Bagley and Tony Parks either Wednesday or Thursday at 2:40 p.m. on the show.
Calendar Shoot - Ian Forbes, Matt Craig and Ed Campbell traveled to the Wendover Nugget Hotel and Casino in Wendover, Nevada to pose for the 2007 Utah Grizzlies calendar.
Friday, December 8
Jason Christie on KBER FM - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie made his weekly appearance on the "Mick and Allen Show" on KBER 101 FM. The Utah coach appears with the rockers every Friday at 3:35 p.m.
Alta High School Sports Marketing Class - Utah Grizzlies play-by-play broadcaster Adrian Denny completed week number four of the Utah Grizzlies High School Marketing Program with Debra Gross' class at Alta High School. Denny talked with the students about public relations and game presentation as they get ready for their school's game on Friday, January 19 when the Grizzlies host Las Vegas. The sports marketing class will shadow the Grizzlies front office and assist in putting on the game from "behind the scenes."
Saturday, December 9
Appearance at Daily Brews Coffee Shop - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie and assistant captain Travis Rycroft signed autographs and posed for pictures at the Cottonwood Heights location of the Daily Brews coffee shop.
Calendar Shoot - Danny Stewart, Chris Trick, Brandon Tidball and D.J. Jelitto appeared at Crawlers in Salt Lake City to pose for the 2007 Utah Grizzlies calendar.
