Charlotte Checkers News Release
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers announced today that they will partner with the Charlotte chapter of Dress for Success.
The relationship will be launched with an accessory drive at the Checkers game on Dec. 30. Fans are encouraged to bring gently used, interview-appropriate accessories, (necklaces, earrings, scarves, bracelets, etc.) to the game that night. Fans who donate an item will receive a free ticket to a future Checkers game.
The Dress for Success Fundraiser with the Checkers will be held on January 12. Supporters of Dress for Success can purchase their tickets online through the Checkers website by utilizing the special promotional code "DRESS".
"We are thrilled about our partnership with the Charlotte Checkers. We look forward to raising awareness about the needs of women in our community who are trying to move up and out of poverty on to a path of self sufficiency," said Kerry Barr O'Connor, Executive Director of Dress for Success Charlotte.
"It is really exciting to be partnering with Dress for Success this season, especially as they launch their Charlotte Chapter. The accessory drive is something new for the Checkers and I look forward to seeing our fans come to the table to help the event prosper. The fundraiser will also be a great opportunity to establish a longstanding relationship with this great non-profit organization," said Tera Black, Vice President of the Charlotte Checkers.
