Johnstown, Springfield exchange forwards

Johnstown, PA (December 11, 2006) - The Johnstown Chiefs announced on Monday that forward Randy Rowe has been loaned to the team's American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Falcons, and that forward Jean Desrochers has been reassigned to the Chiefs.

Rowe currently leads the Chiefs in scoring this season with 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points in 21 games. The 6-foot, 195-pound native of Burford, Ontario attended Falcons training camp this season after splitting the 2005-06 campaign between Springfield and Johnstown. In 45 games with the Chiefs last year, Rowe collected 28 goals and 15 assists for 43 points. In three games with the Falcons last season, Rowe didn't register a point.

Desrochers played in 16 games with Springfield since joining the team on November 3 registering two goals and one assist for three points. Desrochers scored his first AHL goal on November 4 against the Worcester Sharks. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound native of Dalhousie, Quebec was leading Johnstown in scoring at the time of his recall earlier this season.
