December 31, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
LONG BEACH, Calif. - The ECHL announced its selections to represent the National Conference All-Star team Saturday, with two members of the Long Beach Ice Dogs being chosen. Rookie Ash Goldie and second year Ice Dog Christian Larrivee will take part in the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light on January 25th at Save Mart Center in Fresno.
Goldie currently is tied for third among all rookies in goals with 15 and tied for ninth in scoring with 24 points. He also leads all rookies in shots with 113 and is fourth among all ECHL players. Prior to joining the Ice Dogs this season, he played four years at Michigan State University where he had 93 points (37 goals, 56 assists) in 160 games.
Larrivee was selected in the fourth round (114th overall) by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He currently leads Long Beach with 18 assist and 29 points in 30 games this season.
The starting lineups were determined in voting by National Conference coaches, team captains, media directors, broadcasters and newspaper writers. Coaches also submitted the top prospects from within their conference to determine the final roster with each of the 14 teams in the National Conference having a representative.
The Ice Dogs next game is Friday, January 6th, when they take on the Bakersfield Condors at the Long Beach Arena. Game time is at 7:30pm. For ticket information, call (562) ICE-DOGS or visit www.icedogs.com.
