Phoenix RoadRunners News Release
Phoenix, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL are pleased to announce that rookie center Shawn Snider has been selected to the National Conference All-Star Team that will compete at the 2006 Bud Light ECHL All Star Game on January 25 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.
Snider, 24, leads all RoadRunners rookies with five goals and 13 points through 26 games. The Fergus, Ontario native enjoyed his first two-goal and multi-point game of his professional career with a pair of tallies on October 29 against San Diego, and recorded a season-high three-game scoring streak from November 21 through November 29.
"J.J. and I are both very proud of Shawn of his latest accomplishment," said RoadRunners General Manager and Head Coach Ron Filion. "He has been a tremendous asset to our hockey club over the first three months of the season, and we only expect to see better things from him as the season progresses."
Snider has the distinction of being the first RoadRunner ever selected to the ECHL All-Star Game.
With Captain Dean Tiltgen closing in on his 400th career point, the RoadRunners, in conjunction with the Arizona State Lottery, are pleased to announce the "Chasing 400!" promotion. Should Tiltgen notch his 400th point at home, all fans 21-and-over in attendance at America West Arena will receive a free lottery scratch ticket courtesy of the Arizona State Lottery.
Stuck without plans on New Year's Eve? Why not ring in 2006 with the Phoenix RoadRunners? The RoadRunners host the Fresno Falcons at 7:11PM Saturday at America West Arena. Celebrate a Family New Year's Eve with noisemakers, balloons, and lots of fun stuff for the kids. The RoadRunners will also honor former legend Sandy Hucul, and the first 2,000 fans will receive a coupon for a Sandy Hucul Commemorative Pint Glass, the third glass of six in the RoadRunners "Past Greats Night" series.
