Royals Win First Game In Team History In Long Beach, 6-2

December 31, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Reading Royals News Release

Stockton, CA - The Reading Royals (19-6-2=38) scored on their first shot and battled through road fatigue and a short bench to pull out a victory in the team's first trip in history to the Long Beach Arena by defeating the Ice Dogs, 6-2. Goaltender Yutaka Fukufuji made forty stops, and the Royals scored two short-handed goals to build a two goal lead heading into the third period (at 4-2). The Royals then avenged the loss to the Ice Dogs back at the Sovereign Center on December 11, when the Ice Dogs mounted a third period comeback to beat Reading, by playing a solid and smart third period to hold off the Ice Dog attack and add a couple of insurance goals to nail down the win.

Tuesday, the Royals take on the Las Vegas Wranglers in the team's first trip to the Orleans Arena. Game time is 7:00 pm (pst) (10:00 pm est). The game day broadcast can be heard on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata and www.royalshockey.com with pre-game beginning 30 minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available through the Royals' website on a pay per view basis provided by B2 Networks.
