Burke An All-Star
December 31, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Toledo Walleye News Release
(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that Defenseman Gerry Burke has been selected to the 2005-06 ECHL American Conference All-Star Team.
Burke makes the ECHL All-Star game for Burke in his first professional season. Burke has appeared in all 25 games for the Storm this season, and has 14 points (4g, 10a). Burke did score 2 of his 4 goals in back-to-back games on December 9th and 10th this season. Gerry is currently tied with Storm forward Adam Keefe for the best plus/minus on the team with a plus 5. In his four-year career at Brown, Gerry totaled 6 goals, 15 assists, and 135 penalty minutes. Gerry appeared in three preseason games with the American Hockey League's Peoria Rivermen.
Head Coach and Director of Player Personal Nick Vitucci talked about his defenseman, "This is a well deserved honor for Gerry. He really moves the puck well from the defense position, and doesn't't lose anything in his own zone. Burke has earned this honor."
The Toledo Storm return home Saturday night at 6pm against the Dayton
Bombers. Contact the Storm office at 419-691-0200 or visit
