Bolduc Named ECHL All-Star

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The ECHL today named Condors rookie forward Alexandre Bolduc to the National Conferene All-Star Team. Bolduc is scheduled to represent Bakersfield at the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game at Fresno's Save Mart Center on January 25th.

Bolduc, 20, is currently on loan to the Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. In 19 games with Bakersfield this season, the Montreal, Quebec native led Condor rookies with 8 goals and 12 points before his call-up by Manitoba. Bolduc has suited up twice for the Moose and has recorded a power play goal during his time in the AHL.

Bolduc began his professional career after spending the last four years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The 6-foot-2 forward spent his first three and a half seasons with Rouyn-Noranda Huskies before completing his major junior career with the Shawinigan Cataractes. Bolduc went to the QMJHL playoffs every year during his time in the league, highlighted by Rouyn-Noranda's run to the quarterfinals in 2003-04, where Bolduc contributed 3 goals and 4 assists in 11 games. Bolduc recorded 57 goals and 99 assists during his QMJHL career.

There are 10 rookies and 15 of the players on the 21-man roster are first-time selections.

The Fresno Falcons are the host for the 2006 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 24 and the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light on Jan. 25. Both events will be at Save Mart Center and begin at 7 p.m. PT.

The starting lineups were determined in voting by National Conference coaches, team captains, media directors, broadcasters and newspaper writers. Coaches also submitted the top prospects from within their conference to determine the final roster with each of the 14 teams in the National Conference having a representative.

Tonight wraps up the annual Condors Fighting Cancer Hockeython featuring 27 straight hours of hockey at the Arena and the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center, presented by Bright House Networks and KUZZ 107.9. The Hockeython will feature a Condors legends game at 5pm on December 31st with former Condors Paul Rosebush, Jamie Cooke, Glen Mears and more, followed by the Condors match-up with the Stockton Thunder at 7pm.
