Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Johnstown, PA (December 31, 2005) - The Johnstown Chiefs announced that goaltender Jonathan Boutin is one of three goaltenders selected to represent the American Conference at the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Bud Light on Jan. 25 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.

Boutin, 20, leads the ECHL with a .937 save percentage, is tied for the league lead with two shutouts, and is fifth in the league with a 2.36 goals-against-average. On the season, Boutin is 5-6-2, but has won three of his last four, allowing just three goals in that span.

The starting lineups were determined in voting by American Conference coaches, team captains, media directors, broadcasters and newspaper writers. Coaches also submitted the top prospects from within their conference to determine the final roster with each of the 14 teams in the American Conference having a representative.

Boutin, who was a 3rd round draft choice of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2003, is in his first professional season. His home scoreless streak currently stands at 179:03 seconds. His overall scoreless string was snapped on December 17th, at Wheeling, at 144:03.

He stopped 42 of 43 shots last night in a 2-1 win over Trenton, and will start in goal again tonight, as the Chiefs face the Columbia Inferno. Face-off is set for 6:00 p.m. The game is a sell-out.

The 2005-06 season sponsored by First National Bank is in full swing. The Chiefs are back in action Friday night when they host the Reading Royals at 7:30 p.m. To order tickets call (814) 536-5156 or 1-800-CHF-TIXX.
