
'Blades make changes to roster

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Brandon Coalter has been activated off the 7-day injured reserve list and defenseman Martin Tuma has been placed on the 7-day IR.
Coalter, 27, returns to the lineup for the first time since December 16. The Newmarket, Ontario native has picked up six points (1g, 5a) and added 17 penalty minutes in 17 games this season. In his third season with the Everblades, Coalter has notched 31 points and compiled 293 penalty minutes in 123 games career games.
Prior to turning pro in 2003-04, Coalter spent four years playing at the University of PEI, where he collected 53 points (19g, 34a) and 259 PIM in 96 games. Before turning to the college ranks, Coalter played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Oshawa Generals (1995-99) scoring 63 points and picking up 376 PIM in 219 career games.
Tuma heads to the IR for the first time this season after suffering an injury on December 27 at Augusta. The 20-year-old defenseman had played in every game for the Everblades prior to the injury, notching four points (0g, 4a) in 26 games. The 4th round draft pick of the Florida Panthers in 2003 is in his first professional season after spending the past three years in the OHL with the Brampton Battalion, where he collected 47 points in 191 career games.
The Everblades return to action on Saturday, December 31 when they take host the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena. The first 2,000 fans will receive a 2005-06 Everblades team calendar.
