Utah Grizzlies News Release

Anchorage, Alaska - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced today that goaltender Mike Mole has been recalled to the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The Grizzlies are the proud ECHL affiliate of the Sound Tigers and the NHL's New York Islanders.

The move follows the promotion of Sound Tigers goaltender Joey MacDonald to the Islanders with New York netminder Rick DiPietro currently listed as day-to-day with a knee injury.

Mole departs Utah with a record of 9-6-2. Nathan Lawson, who is currently 6-3-1 versus the ECHL this season, will get the start tonight in Alaska at Sullivan Arena in the same building where he played college hockey for the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

The 24-year-old Mole makes his second trip to Bridgeport this season after appearing in 15 games for the Sound Tigers last year. He was signed to a contract by the Islanders in October of 2006.

The Grizzlies return to action tonight in Alaska. Face-off is scheduled for 9:15 p.m. Utah returns home Friday, January 11 hosting Idaho at the E-Center at 7:05 p.m.
