Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Chris Blight has been loaned to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. For Blight, a third year pro who leads the Royals with fifteen goals and twenty-six points, this marks his first regular season call up to the American League. Last season, Blight played in a playoff game for the Worcester Sharks of the AHL. In a separate transaction, the Royals have also activated defenseman Rob LaLonde from the seven day injured reserve. LaLonde, who is tied for the Royals' team lead with 85 penalty minutes, sustained an injury on December 5 and has missed seven games coming into tonight's contest against the Cincinnati Cyclones. The Royals also signed defenseman Brian Boulay (6'1"/205) (23), who played earlier this season with the Royals in their 3-0 victory over the Pensacola Ice Pilots on October 24. Boulay, who played his college Merrimack College, played two games for Reading last year after the completion of his collegiate career.

The Royals return to action tonight (December 28, 2007) (7:05 pm). The first 1500 fans who are 21 years of age and older will receive an "R-Team/R-Town" pub glass courtesy of Molson Canadian and All Star Distributing. The game night broadcast on Friday will begin with the pre-game warm-up show at 6:35 pm on ESPN Radio in Ephrata. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
