November 6, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Adirondack Thunder News Release

GAME NOTES

GREAT EIGHT?: The Adirondack Thunder look to etch their place in ECHL history in tonight's game. With a win tonight, the Thunder would tie the all-time ECHL record for consecutive wins to open a season with eight. The record is currently shared by Dayton (1994) and Trenton (2001).

ZOOPER COMEBACK: The Thunder pulled a victory out of the jaws of defeat on Weednesday as they came from two goals down in the final 1:38 to take down the Kalamazoo Wings 3-2 in overtime. Blueliners Ryan Constant and David Shields scored just 1:24 apart with the goaltender pulled, paving the way for Rob Bordson's overtime winner.

GOOD LUCK ROB: The Thunder will be without their leading scorer after Rob Bordson was signed to an AHL contract by the Providence Bruins. Bordson, who was recently named the CCM ECHL Player of the Month for October, had 13 points (7-6-13) in seven games played. Bordson led the ECHL in goals, points, power-play goals and overtime winners prior to his recall.

MOBILE APP: Goaltender Ken Appleby continues to lead the way for the Thunder with wins in each of his first five starts. Appleby, who is one of just three netminders with five victories on the season, has a .933 save percentage and a 1.98 goals against average so far this season. The New Jersey Devils send down is also the only Thunder player currently on an NHL contract.

BIG THREE: After Bordson's recall, the Thunder are led offensively by a trio of players, Louick Marcotte, Greg Wolfe and David Shields, with seven points apiece. Marcotte's five goals are tops on the team, while Wolfe's six assists tie him with teammate Kyle Flanagan for the team lead.

MAN DAVE: Blueliner David Shields has climbed the ECHL leaderboards for scoring amongst defensemen, as he now sits tied for third leaguewide with seven points (2-5-7). Shields, who also leads the Thunder with a +6 rating, has four points (1-3-4) over his last two games, including the game tying goal with just 14 seconds to play in the third period on Wednesday.
