
Walleye Suffer 4-1 Defeat in Fort Wayne

(Fort Wayne, IN) Toledo sent 14 shots on goal in the third period but fell 4-1 in Fort Wayne Friday night. Toledo has an overall record of 4-3-0-1 and is 4-3-0-1 on the road.
Fort Wayne took an early 1-0 lead as Mike Embach beat Jake Paterson with a wrist shot from the left circle. The Walleye did not pick up their first shot on goal until 10:28 into the first period and finished the period with just five.
Toledo sent 10 shots on goal in the second period but the Komets picked up the lone goal. Drew Daniels sent a shot that deflected past Paterson at 13:16. The Walleye went to third period down 2-0.
Zach Nastasiuk scored his first professional goal at 6:34 of the third period on a penalty shot to bring the Walleye within a goal. A power play goal from the Komets at 13:41 put the deficit back a two goals. Fort Wayne also picked up an empty net goal late.
