
Kwas Leads Eagles to 3-1 Win over Tulsa

(Loveland, Colo.)- The Colorado Eagles defeated the Tulsa Oilers 3-1 on Friday night at the Budweiser Events Center, notching their second consecutive win at home. Jordan Kwas logged a two-point night for the Eagles with a goal and an assist on the evening.
Colin Joe kept the Eagles steller power play going, giving Colorado an early 1-0 lead on the man-advantage. Joe scored his first goal of the season less than five minutes into the game on a shot from the the circle that rocketed past Tulsa goaltender, Jussi Olkinuora.
Tulsa evened the score late in the period. Dan Desalvo scored right off the face-off tying the game 1-1 with 44 seconds to play in the period. Despite the deadlocked score, Colorado outshot Tulsa 16-2 on the period.
The second period was marked by a scrum in front of the net and resulting fight between Derek Rodwell and Brady Ramsey. Four penalties were awarded on the play, but the frame ended with neither team finding the back of the net.
Colorado took their second lead of the night at the 8:42 mark of the third period. Olkinuora let loose three separate rebounds in front of the net before Jordan Kwas buried the puck, giving the Eagles a 2-1 lead.
Kyle Ostrow padded the Colorado lead with a power-play goal from the circle at the 16:22 mark. Ostrow's goal gave the Eagles a 3-1 lead and was set-up on a beautiful cross-slot feed from Trent Daavettila.
The Eagles and Oilers face off again tomorrow night at 7:05 PM at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland.
