Next Game Preview: The Cyclones travel to Wheeling to take on the Nailers on Tuesday morning, for the first of three school day games this season for the Cyclones. Cincinnati earned a pair of wins over Wheeling in the preseason, and were even in last season's series, 2-2-0-0. The Cyclones and Nailers will meet a total of four times this season, with three of those meetings coming at U.S. Bank Arena.

Deuces Wild: Jack Downing and Joe Pendenza each had a pair of goals in Friday's 4-2 win over the Adirondack Thunder. For Pendenza, it marked his first and second goals of the season, while it was Downing's second multi-goal, and third multi-point outing of the season. Downing is now the team leader in goals (5) and points (6). Pendenza is tied for third in team scoring with a two goals and two assists.

The Puck Stops Here: Goaltender Brad Thiessen is at the top of the ECHL's goaltending rankings through his first five starts of the season, posting a 4-0-0-1 record, and leading the League with a 1.18 goals-against average and a .959 save percentage. He earned his fourth win of the season in last night's win over Adirondack, and has allowed one goal in four of his five starts.

Knocking the Rust Off: For the second straight game, a Cyclone made his season debut. Defenseman Ben Schmidt made his professional debut in Friday's 4-2 win over the Adirondack Thunder. He joins forward Garrick Perry, who made his season debut in Wednesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Toledo Walleye. Perry accounted for two shots, and dished out a couple of big hits in the contest. This is the first pro season for the rookie out of Campbell River, BC, who skated last season with the University of British Columbia. In 28 games last season, Schmidt accounted for a pair of goals and an assist.

Defensively Offensive: Cincinnati's defensive corps have been finding the scoresheet early in the season. Cyclones defenseman Garrett Noonan recorded an assist in last night's 4-2 win over Adirondack. Noonan has added a pair of goals and an additional assist to give him four points on the young season. He is also third plus-minus amongst League defenseman with a +7 rating. Overall, the Cincinnati blueline has been responsible for four goals and five assists through the first six games of the season.

Power Supply: For the third time in two weeks, Cincinnati's power play converted twice in a game, going 2-for-4 in Saturday's 4-2 win over Adirondack. After finishing last season with the 25th power play in the ECHL, Cincinnati is now third in the League, converting on 26.1% (6-of-23) of man-advantage opportunities.

The Cure Starts Now: Saturday is The Cure Starts Now Night, which honors and pays tribute to Lauren Hill; the former Mt. St. Joseph's basketball player who lost her battle with cancer earlier this year. The Cyclones will wear special jerseys during the game that will be auctioned off immediately following the contest.
