Mallards Notes
Last Night
Mike Monfredo scored the third period game winner and added an assist and Raphael Bussieres provided a goal and two assists as the host Mallards defeated the Wichita Thunder 4-2.
First
Tonight's game is the first ever regular season meeting between the Mallards and Fuel. The Fuel did claim a 3-0 preseason victory over the Mallards on October 11 in Indianapolis.
Division
Tonight's game is the Mallards' eleventh overall but their first against a division opponent.
Rebound
Last night's win ended the Mallards' four-game (0-2-2) winless streak.
Home Sweet Home
The Mallards are unbeaten in regulation (3-0-1) in their last four home games.
On the Road
The Mallards return to the road tonight having gone winless (0-2-2) in four away games since winning their season opener October 16 in Allen.
Double Down
Each of the Mallards' last two wins have come against Wichita.
First Blood
The Mallards are unbeaten in regulation- 4-0-1- when scoring first.
Finishing Kick
The Mallards have outscored the opposition 5-0 in the third period of their last four games.

Bussieres last night moved into a tie for the Mallard lead in points (8) and goals (4).
Streaking
Guillaume Gelinas picked up an assist last night to move into a tie for the ECHL point-scoring (8) lead among defensemen and extend his team season-best point-scoring streak to five games (1-4-5). Gelinas is also tied for the team lead in points and tied for fourth among ECHL defensemen in goals (3).
For Openers
Olivier Archambault last night scored the first goal for the second time in the Mallards' last two games to remain tied for the team lead in points (8).
Helping Hand
Last night's game winner was Monfredo's first goal of the season. Monfredo also last night moved into a tie for second among ECHL defensemen in assists (6).
Between the Pipes
Brody Hoffman made 21 saves- including 14 in the second period alone- on the way to the win in goal last night.
Special Teams
The Mallards went 1-for-6 on the power play last night and have now scored on eight of their last 21 advantages. They rank fifth in the ECHL in power play efficiency (24.4 percent). After surviving all three Wichita power plays last night the Mallards are now tied for fourteenth in the league in penalty killing (83.3 percent).
Head to Head
Tonight's game is the Mallards' first ever regular season meeting with the Fuel and the first of ten games between the two teams this season.
