Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, AK - Ryan Misiak turned a neutral zone turnover into a breakaway goal at 13:37 of the third period to break a 1-1 tie, and Utah went on to a 4-1 victory over Alaska Friday at the Sullivan Arena.

After a scoreless first period, Utah's Shane Taker one-timed a pass into a long distance goal at 17:25 of the second period that Aces netminder Troy Redmann didn't see until the puck was flying by him.

In the third period, Tommaso Traversa tipped a deep slot shot by Dean Chelios that slipped by Grizzlies goalie Ryan Faragher at 10:15 to tie the game at 1.

3 minutes and 22 seconds later, Misiak jetted into the Aces zone and slid a backhander five-hole, then Eric Higby backhanded a top shelfer at 18:38 to make it 3-1 Utah. Matt Berry added an empty-netter at 19:38 to complete the scoring.

Faragher made 27 saves for the win for the Grizzlies...Redmann stopped 26 shots for Alaska.

The two teams will complete their three-game series Saturday night. Utah won game one Wednesday 4-2.
