January 26, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Abbotsford Heat News Release
The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that the Calgary Flames, their National Hockey League affiliate, recalled right wing Dave Moss and left wing Eric Godard yesterday. The announcement was made by Flames' General Manager Darryl Sutter.
Moss had two goals for the Knights in their 4-3 shootout win over Milwaukee on Wednesday. The native of Livonia, Michigan has earned nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 28 games for the Knights this season. He also has 22 penalty minutes. Moss has appeared in 15 games for the Flames this season, scoring five goals and two assists for seven points and ten penalty minutes. His first NHL goal, against Los Angeles on December 19, was the game winner. Last season, Moss was the Knights' leading rookie scorer with 21 goals and 27 assists for 48 points and 28 penalty minutes. He played in just 63 games, his season cut short by an injury in mid-March. Moss is originally the Flames' seventh round pick, 220th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He is in his second pro season out of the University of Michigan.
Godard has five goals and four assists for nine points in 36 games with the Knights. Two of his goals have been game winners. He ranks third on the team with 94 penalty minutes. He tied a team record with four points (two goals, two assists) at Milwaukee on January 4th. Godard has played in five games with the Flames, earning 12 penalty minutes. The native of Vernon, British Columbia played all of the 2005-06 season with the New York Islanders, tallying two goals and two assists for four points in 57 games. He also had 115 penalty minutes. It was his third NHL stint, all with the Islanders. In 107 career NHL games, he has five points and 260 penalty minutes. Prior to coming to Omaha, Godard played four full seasons in the AHL with Bridgeport and Louisville.
The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights host the Chicago Wolves at 7:00 p.m. tonight in the sixth game of their season-high eight-game home stand. The Knights trail the Wolves by two points for first place in the West Division.
Tickets for all Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' games are on sale at the Omaha Civic Auditorium box office Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets also are available through all Ticketmaster outlets and by phone at (402) 422-1212.
