
Seven Amerks games to be carried on NHL Network

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the National Hockey League network will televise 12 American Hockey League games for the remainder of the 2006-07 season, doubling last year's total of just six games.
Coverage begins on Wednesday, January 31st with a contest between the Binghamton Senators and the Worcester Sharks at 7:00 p.m. EST. Coverage of AHL games will continue through the last day of the season in mid-April.
Rochester will be appearing in seven of the 12 games the NHL network will be televising. The first of seven will come on Wednesday, February 7th at 7:00 p.m. against the Toronto Marlies. The game itself will be played on Friday, February 2nd, however it will not air until the following Wednesday.
The NHL network has been televising AHL games since the 2004-05 season, introducing the next generation of the NHL players to thousands of viewers. This
season, 83 percent of current NHL players are AHL graduates, while 17 current NHL head coaches are former AHL coaches.
