
Jaffray named to Canadian AHL All-Star team

The Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, are pleased to announce Jason Jaffray has been named to the Canadian All-Star Team for the 2007 Rbk Hockey American Hockey League All-Star Classic to be held at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, ON from January 28th-29th, 2007. Jaffray will join fellow Moose Brad Moran and Mike Keane, Captain of the Canadian All-Star Team, in Toronto.
Jaffray, 25, is in his second full season with the Moose. So far this season, the Olds, AB native leads the team in goals with 22, good for eighth in the league in goal scoring. Between December 28, 2006 and January 12, 2007, Jaffray set a new Moose record by scoring goals in seven consecutive games. After 44 games with the Moose, he sits second on the Moose leaderboard with 46 points, five points behind pointleader Brad Moran.
In 73 games with Manitoba last season, Jaffray tallied 12 goals, 35 assists, and 58 penalty minutes, adding six goals and an assist in 13 post-season games. Joining the Moose from the Cleveland Barons late in the 2004-05 season, Jaffray played 14 games with Manitoba to close out the season, scoring four goals and four assists for eight points. In 168 career AHL games with Norfolk, Wilkes-Barre, Cleveland, and Manitoba, Jaffray has posted 118 points (50 goals, 68 assists) and 140 penalty minutes. The offensive forward has 77 goals and 95 assists in 146 career ECHL games played, as well as 107 goals and 128 assists in four full WHL seasons.
This will be Jaffray's first AHL All-Star game and second professional All-Star experience. After a stellar rookie season with the ECHL's Roanoke Express in 2002-03, Jaffray earned 1st Team ECHL All-Star honours, was a member of the ECHL All-Rookie Team, and was named 2003 ECHL Rookie of the Year.
