
Edwardson's Hat Trick Leads Wranglers Over Condors 6-3

Bakersfield, CA - The Las Vegas Wranglers (39-12-14, 92 Points) defeated the Bakersfield Condors (40-15-9, 90 Points) 6-3 at Rabobank Arena on Friday night. Center Derek Edwardson led the charge with his second hat trick of the season as Las Vegas took sole possession of first place in the Pacific Division. Goalie Mike McKenna improved to 21-4-8 with 36 saves on the night. Left wing Shawn Limpright dished out three assists as the Wranglers won their sixth straight game. Forwards Steve Crampton and Nick Anderson each scored and added an assist in the victory. Rookie winger Adam Cracknell also scored in the win. Las Vegas will return home for a rematch with Bakersfield at 7:05 pm on Tuesday night.
In the first period, Las Vegas and Bakersfield combined for six goals. Center Derek Edwardson gave Las Vegas a 1-0 lead with his 22nd goal of the season just 3:14 into the game. Bakersfield countered with a power-play goal by Alex Kim at 4:33, tying the game at one. Edwardson scored his second of the night at 10:11, moving the Wranglers in front at 2-1. The Condors tied the game at two with their second power-play goal of he evening as Steve Rodberg scored his sixth goal of the season at 12:23. Las Vegas answered back off the next face off as Edwardson set up Steve Crampton's 19th goal of the season just 13-seconds later for the 3-2 lead. The Wranglers scored on their first power play of the evening, right wing Adam Cracknell expanded the Las Vegas lead to 4-2 at 14:50 with his seventh goal of the season.
In the second period, Derek Edwardson completed the hat trick with his third goal of the night at 17:59, expanding the Las Vegas lead to 5-2. Edwardson's 24th of the season capped off his second hat trick of the season.
In the third period, Nick Anderson scored his 11th of the season at 8:34 to push the Las Vegas lead to 6-2. Forward Andrew Ianiero scored his 18th goal of the season on the power play with just under three minutes to go, trimming the Wranglers lead to 6-3.
Las Vegas returns home on Tuesday, March 27th at 7:05 pm to host Bakersfield. Friday, March 30th the Wranglers will host the Alaska Aces at 7:05 pm. The first 2,000 fans to the game receive a Wranglers' playoff puck compliments of Health Plan of Nevada and Southwest Medical Associates. Saturday, March 31st Las Vegas will host Alaska at 7:05 pm. Before the game, from 4:30 - 6:30 in the concourse of the Orleans Arena, fans may attend the Port of Subs Pre-Game Party.
