
Steelheads Add Jay Beagle

Boise, ID - The Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL announced today that rookie forward Jay Beagle has been signed to a contract.
Beagle, who got in town earlier this week and has practiced with the Steelheads over the last few days, had his immigration paperwork come through today allowing him to play tonight against the Alaska Aces. In 36 games this season with the University of Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves, Beagle finished tied for third on the team with 20 points, while tying for second on the squad with 10 goals. Last year, as a freshman, the 6'3", 210 lbs. forward had 10 points in 31 games. Prior to joining the NCAA ranks, Beagle played in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) with the Calgary Royals, where he picked up 107 points and 214 penalty minutes in 122 games.
In a separate transaction, the Steelheads have placed rookie center Charlie Johnson on the 3-day IR.
