
Cyclones end streak with shootout win

The Cyclones ended a nine-game winless skid with a 2-1 shootout victory over the Idaho Steelheads. Tyler Masters was the star of the game for the Cyclones after turning aside 32 of 33 Idaho shots including several excellent scoring opportunities.
After a scoreless first, the teams exchanged second-period markers. Tyler Deis scored 3:43 into the second to give the Cyclones a 1-0 lead. Deis' ninth goal of the season was assisted by former Steelhead Andrew Proskurnicki and Ryan Brindley.
The Steelheads would even the score with an even strength marker at the 7:38 mark of the second. David Bararuk's goal was his fifth of the season.
After a scoreless third period and overtime, the game headed to a shootout. The Cyclones buried two of their five shootout opportunities. Ryan Brindley and Evan Cheverie each potted their chances to give the Clones their first win in their last ten.
The Cyclones return to the ice on Friday vs. the Wheeling Nailers in Wheeling. Game time is 7:30 p.m. with a 7:20 pre-game show on sportsjuice.com.
The Cyclones return to U.S. Bank Arena for the back end of a home and home with Wheeling on Saturday. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available via all Ticketmaster locations including by phone (513-562-4949), on-line (www.ticketmaster.com) or U.S. Bank Arena box office.
