Bullies Sign Falco
February 19, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL have announced the signing of forward Paul Falco. Falco has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve.
Falco, 22, joins the Bullies following his departure from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell in the middle of his sophomore year. He had 1 goal in 9 games for the River Hawks.
A native of Weymouth, MA, Falco originally began his collegiate career at the University of Maine in 2001-02 with current Bullies assistant coach Matt Thomas. In his freshman season, Falco notched 4 goals and 7 assists in 28 games for the Black Bears playing alongside former Bullies Peter Metcalf and Matt Yeats. In January of 2003, Falco transferred from Maine to U-Mass-Lowell. Because of NCAA rules which state that an athlete must sit out a full year following a transfer, Falco was not able to resume his playing career until December 27.
In other news, goaltender Scott Stirling has returned from his stint with Portland of the American Hockey League. Stirling won his only start, a 1-0 shutout of Wilkes-Barre on February 13.
The Bullies travel to the Sovereign Center on Friday to battle the Reading Royals. Game time is 7:05PM and can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1450AM and the Surfer Network at www.boardwalkbullies.com.
On Saturday, February 28, members of the Bullies will be shaving their heads following the game with the Trenton Titans in honor of St. Baldric's day to raise money for the National Childhood Cancer Foundation. Support the Bullies in their cause by pledging donations at the St Baldric's table at every home game up till February 28.
The Bullies battle the Pacific Division Bakersfield Condors at 2:05PM on Sunday at Boardwalk Hall. Every Sunday home game this season is "Kids Day". All kids 12-and-under get in for just $1 with the purchase of a$15 adult premier ticket. For more information or to order tickets, call (609) 348-PUCK or purchase online at www.boardwalkbullies.com.
