Florida Acquires Forward McNabb From Long Beach

Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades President/GM Craig Brush announced today that the Everblades have acquired forward John McNabb from the Long Beach Ice Dogs (ECHL) in exchange for forward Jimmy Callahan.

McNabb (6'0" 200 lbs.) has seen action in 49 games this season in Long Beach and has registered 20 goals and 25 assists for 45 points. The Calgary, Alberta native currently leads the Ice Dogs in scoring and has played in five professional seasons including a brief stint in Germany. McNabb played last season with the Jackson Bandits (ECHL) where he notched 35 goals, 35 assists for 70 points. He will join the Blades on the road in Augusta and will play in the Blades game on Friday night.

In related player movement, forward Kevin Swider decided to return to Miami and finish the season with the Manatees in the WHA2. The Blades have signed defenseman Mark White to a contract and he and veteran forward Tom Buckley will remain with the Everblades.

The Time is Now! The Everblades take on the Augusta Lynx at the Augusta Civic Center on Friday night at 7:35 PM. The Blades continue their three game road trip in Florence on Saturday night at 7:30 PM. Florida returns home to take on the Columbus Cottonmouths in a pair of games on Friday, February 27th and Saturday, February 28th at 7:30 PM.
