
Bobby Allison To Appear in Sports Arena

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that they have reached an agreement with NASCAR Legend Bobby Allison to appear on Wednesday, February 25th against the Peoria Rivermen.
Mike Miller, Vice President and General Manager of the Toledo Storm, stated, "We are excited to have Bobby Allison making an appearance at the Toledo Sports Arena. Bobby is one of the true greats of NASCAR who many of our fans will recognize and be happy to meet."
Allison, the 1983 Winston Cup Series Champion, is the owner of 85 career NASCAR victories and also over 600 short track victories. In 1998, Bobby was named as one of NASCAR's 50 greatest drivers for his contributions to the sport. Allison won NASCAR's premier event, the Daytona 500, a total of three times in 1978,1982, and again in 1988. He is also a three time winner at Michigan International Speedway, posting victories in 1971, 81, and 1982. Bobby won 10 races during the 1971 campaign and followed that up with 10 more wins in 1972. Six times Allison won NASCAR Most Popular Driver Award (1971-73,1981-83). Throughout his storied career, Bobby collected over seven million dollars in earnings.
In 1993 Bobby was named to the International Motorsports and the National Motorsports Press Association Halls of Fame. The following year (1994) Allison was inducted to the Eastern Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame. Bobby is also part of the North Carolina Hall of Fame, inducted in 1998.
The Toledo Storm has three home games this weekend starting Friday night against the Idaho Steelheads.
