Second-year Left Wing Kern Traded to Pensacola

Peoria, Ill. (February 19, 2004) – Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that second-year left wing Josh Kern has been traded to the Pensacola Ice Pilots for financial considerations.

Kern – a 6-foot, 210-pound native of Anchorage, Alaska – collected 18 points (7g, 11a) and racked up 77 penalty minutes (PIM) in 28 games with Peoria this season. He had been on team suspension since January 2.

"The Golden Jet" Bobby Hull – the former Chicago Blackhawk Great – will appear at Carver Arena on Friday, February 20, when the Rivermen host the archrival Dayton Bombers at 7:00 p.m.

It is also a Coca-Cola Finally Friday. Fans receive a 2-for-1 Upper Bowl admission when they present a Cherry Coke or Vanilla Coke can at the Carver Arena Box Office. Miss Hooters International Erica Burgess will also make an appearance during the game.

The conclusion of the Single Male Contest will take place with Rivermen defenseman Scott Crawford picking the winner from two female finalists. The winning female will then have an opportunity to choose between a date with Scott or a prize package.

The Peoria Rivermen are a member of the ECHL – America's Premier "AA" Hockey League.
