ECHL, Pro Sports Radio Form Partnership

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced on Thursday that is has entered into a partnership with Pro Sports Radio that will make interviews with ECHL players available online.
The four-to-five minute interviews will allow fans the opportunity to learn more about the personalities of the players that make up the ECHL.
Fans will be able to listen to the interviews by clicking the Broadcasts link (http://www.echl.com/broadcasts.shtml) on the ECHL web site.
"We are very excited about this partnership with the ECHL," said Bob Eres,
President of Pro Sports Radio. "This is a great opportunity to be involved
with an organization that has established itself as one of the top
developmental leagues in hockey."
A member of the National Association of Broadcasters, Pro Sports Radio
produces weekly radio shows including "Puck Stop," "Football Report,"
"Basketball Dunk," "Giant Steps," and "Let's Talk Baseball" while also
providing short-form features of famous athletes and live game updates to
radio stations and media outlets across North America.
Began in 1988 with five teams in three states, the ECHL has 31 teams in 17
states playing a record 1,116 games, making it the largest league in
professional hockey. There have been 241 ECHL players that have advanced to
the NHL, including 26 in 2003-04 that have made their first NHL appearance
since playing in the ECHL. There were 53 former ECHL players on NHL
opening-day rosters, surpassing the record of 50 players set in 2002-03.
The ECHL has affiliations with 21 of the 30 teams in the NHL in 2003-04 and
there has been an ECHL player on each of the 30 NHL teams in 2003-04. There
are former ECHL coaches behind the bench on 14 of the 28 AHL teams, and the
ECHL has affiliation agreements with 21 of the 28 teams in the AHL in
2003-04.
