This is the eighth of 10 meetings between the Gulls and Wranglers with San Diego holding a 4-2-1 series edge. The two teams will clash two more times in the regular season.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: FEB. 13, 2004
Mark Pederson, Greg Barber and Sylvain Deschatelets connected on all three goals, leading the Gulls to a 3-2 victory over the Wranglers. Pederson gave the Gulls a 1-0 lead before Las Vegas's Cam Bristow tied it early in the second. Barber netted back-to-back goals late in the second to put the game away. The Wranglers cut the lead back to one midway through the third, but that's as close as they could get.
GULLS UPDATE:
The Gulls (34-11-6) enter the day with the best record in the ECHL, two points ahead of the Wheeling Nailers and Louisiana IceGators... They lead the Pacific Division by seven points over the second-place Wranglers... San Diego has won an ECHL season-high 13 straight home games. The league record for consecutive home wins is 18, set by the South Carolina Stingrays in 1994-95... The Blue and Orange are unbeaten in 16 of their last 17 games (13-1-3) and 29 of their last 33 (25-4-4)...
OTHER NOTES:
San Diego is 31-8-4 against Pacific Division teams, including a 20-1-0 mark at home... Las Vegas is the only divisional opponent to beat the Gulls at home this season... San Diego has outscored its opponents 118-74 during the last 33 games... The Gulls have gone into overtime in five of their last 10 contests. They are 2-0-3 in those games and 6-0-6 overall this season in games not decided in regulation... The Blue and Orange just finished a three-game Central Division road trip (1-0-2). They beat the Texas Wildcatters, fell to the Louisiana IceGators in overtime and lost to the Mississippi Sea Wolves in a shootout... Trevor Koenig is tied for the league lead with 24 wins...
PEDERSON, BARBER, DESCHATELETS UPDATE:
The red-hot line of Pederson, Barber and Deschatelets has combined for 92 points (36g, 56a) in the last 21 games... Pederson has 41 points (25g, 16a) in his last 26 games and leads the ECHL with 36 goals... Barber has 33 points (12g, 21a) in his last 21 games and leads all ECHL rookies with 54 points overall... Deschatelets has 40 points (8g, 32a) in the last 26 games...
LAS VEGAS NOTES:
Las Vegas (31-16-5) starts the day second in the Pacific Division, three points ahead of the Idaho Steelheads... Rookie center Blaine Bablitz has five points in seven games since coming off injured reserve. The first-year forward missed 40 games with a broken leg... Jason McBain and Chris Kenady are each tied for third in the ECHL with a +27 rating... Marc Magliarditi is tied for third in the ECHL with 23 wins... Jason McBain is sixth among all league defensemen with 44 points... Las Vegas has allowed eight power-play goals in the last 10 games (34-42)... In Sunday's 6-4 win over Long Beach, Chris Wheaton tied an ECHL record with eight minor penalties... The Wranglers have only scored the first goal of the game once in the seven-game series.
TRANSACTIONS:
Trent Clark was released on Tuesday... Brian Gornick was assigned by the American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks on Saturday... Dennis Purdie (shoulder) and Kevin (Grant) remain on the injured list... Josh Gratton remains with the AHL's Mighty Ducks...
