Game Preview
For the second straight night, the Kalamazoo Wings will take on the Toledo Walleye. Last night the K-Wings defeated the Walleye 2-0 at Wings Stadium. On the season, Kalamazoo is 1-1-0-0 against Toledo. Including last night, the teams will square off four time in the month of December.
This evening will be a historic one for K-Wings defenseman Sam Ftorek. Ftorek, who played in his 1,000th overall career game last night, will set the ECHL record for games played (790) surpassing Cam Brown. The K-Wings enter the Huntington Center on a two-game winning streak.
Last night's loss snapped a seven-game (6-0-1-0) unbeaten streak for the Walleye. The conference's top scoring team was held without a goal for the first time all season. It has also marked just the third time this year that Walleye failed to register two or more goals in a game.

Tonight will be a historic night for defenseman Sam Ftorek. With his first shift of the game, Ftorek will be competing in his ECHL record-breaking 790th career ECHL game.

Kalamazoo possesses one of the top penalty killing units in the entire ECHL. The K-Wings rank second overall in the league and first in the Eastern Conference in penalty killing at 87.8%.
Scoring on the Road
Kalamazoo's Curtis Valk has been able to find the net away from home. Valk, who is tied for the team-lead in goals with seven, has netted six of his goals on the road.
Tying History
Goaltender Joel Martin tied two K-Wings' ECHL records last night. Martin tied Ryan Nie for the team-lead in ECHL victories (58) and he tied Nie and Riley Gill for the team's ECHL all-time in shutouts (5). b

The Walleye have been impossible to defeat they score the game's first goal. Toledo is a perfect 14-0-0-0 when they register the game's first goal.
Scoreless
Last night marked the first time this season that the Walleye were held without a goal. Including yesterday, the Walleye have failed to registered two or more goals in just three of their 21 games this season.
Rookie Sensation
Toledo's Tyler Barnes is having a sensational rookie campaign. Barnes ranks second overall in the league among rookies in scoring with 24 points (10 goals, 14 assists).

The Walleye are a touch team to keep off the scoreboard. Toledo ranks second overall in the league and tops in the Eastern Conference averaging 4.38 goals per game.
