
Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays Celebrate Teddy Bear Toss Tonight vs. Road Warriors

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays host the Greenville Road Warriors on Teddy Bear Toss and Sing For Santa tonight at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. Tonight is the seventh of 14 meetings between to the two East-Division rivals this season.
Teddy Bear Toss, Sing For Santa, Free Parking:
Bring a new or gently used stuffed animal to throw out on the ice after the Stingrays score their first goal! All stuffed animals will benefit the Salvation Army's Angel Tree. Sing you favorite Holiday songs throughout the game with Santa himself! Tonight is also a Free Parking night!
Series Breakdown:
The Stingrays carry a 3-1-0-2 head-to-head record against the Road Warriors and are winners of the last three meetings. Forwards Joe Diamond (three goals, two assists), Cody Sylvester (two goals, three assists) and defenseman Lee Moffie (one goal, four assists) lead the Stingrays against the Road Warriors with five points. Goalie Adam Morrison is 3-1-0-0 with a 1.26 goals-against average and .959 save percentage.
Shutdown Defense in Final Period:
The Stingrays hold an 8-0-0-3 record when leading after two periods while the Road Warriors are 9-0-0-0.
Heated Rivalry:
The Stingrays are 32-24-13 all-time against the Road Warriors. Greenville is celebrating their fifth anniversary in the Upstate this season.
Familiar Faces:
Stingrays Brandon Hynes faces his former team for the first time this season. He began the season with the Road Warriors and appeared in one contest against the Stingrays.
Picking Up Points:
Forward Braden Pimm has four goals and three assists for seven points in his last seven games. Forward Andrew Cherniwchan is currently on a three-game point streak (one goal, two assists).
Backstopping the Stingrays:
Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis, who was named the CCM ECHL Goalie of the Week this week, is currently on a five-game winning streak and holds a 1.20 goals-against average, .950 save percentage and two shutouts during the streak.
