Mallards Overpower Oilers 4-1

TULSA, Okla. - Kevin Baker- who also had an assist- provided what proved to be the power play game winner, Pearce Eviston scored twice in the third period and Evan Mosher made 28 saves as the Quad City Mallards (10-8-5) defeated the host Tulsa Oilers (13-9-3) 4-1 Saturday night.

The Mallards roared back with four unanswered goals after the Oilers opened the scoring while up 5-on-3 when Tommy Caig one timed the puck home at 7:57 of the first period.

Johnny Rogic pounced on a rebound to tie the score at 10:24 of the second period. At 15:57 of the second it was the Mallards who were up two men when Baker broke the deadlock with a one timer of his own.

Eviston stretched the lead to 3-1 at 8:52 of the third period by rifling in Jeff Lee's centering pass. An Eviston empty netter finished off the Oilers with one minute remaining

The Mallards next play at home next Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Brampton Beast. Fans can get four tickets to Mallards Wednesday night home games for just $20. After each Wednesday night home tilt, fans can join the Mallards at T.G.I. Friday's in Moline for a postgame party.
