DULUTH, Ga. - The Gladiators (7-11-1-0) return home to The Arena at Gwinnett Center, 15 days after their last home game. Tonight, the Glads will host their annual Sing for Santa concert, a fan-favorite tradition where hundreds of local area schoolchildren will sing some of the holiday favorites during the first intermission. New to this year, parents and relatives can purchase a recording of their child's performance on The Arena's scoreboard with keepsake DVDs after the weekend.
The Gladiators finish up a three-game set against the North Division with their first matchup against the new-look Cincinnati Cyclones tonight. Just like last season, Gwinnett will play only one game against Cincinnati in the 2014-15 regular season.
Glads Notes:
News From the AHL: Rookie forward Dyson Stevenson was recalled to AHL Portland last night, the team announced this morning. In 19 games, Stevenson scored four goals and three assists, along with 37 PIM. He also received a rare honor for a rookie - he was named an alternate captain for two games (11/9, 11/13) when captain Sean Berkstresser sat out with an injury.
Mr. Lee, Mr. Lee - Goaltender Mike Lee makes his return to Gwinnett after assignment from Portland on Friday. Lee has played in 29 games for the Gladiators, sporting a 15-12-1 record, a 2.30 GAA, and a .913 SV%.
No Shot: The Glads are one of only two teams in the league to not have reached the shootout this season; the Alaska Aces are the only other team. The Gladiators are 2-1 in OT.
Gladiators Ahoy: Three players currently on the Gladiators roster have been assigned from their AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates- James Melindy, Nathan Burns, and Mike Lee - and seven more - Joel Hanley (POR), Dan O'Donoghue (POR), Jordon Southorn (POR), Greg Carey (POR), Dyson Stevenson (POR), Bretton Stamler (HFD), and Casey Pierro-Zabotel (NOR) - have been spent time in the AHL this year.
Milestones: Eric Springer is three games away from his 100th regular season professional game ... Anthony Perdicaro is one game away from his 50th ECHL match ... Garry Nunn is four goals away from his 50th professional tally, and two assists away from his 100th as a pro ... Geoff Paukovich is four games away from his 300th ECHL game.
Streaks: Anthony Perdicaro has two goals and two assists in his last five games ... Defenseman Tristin Llewellyn has a goal and three assists in his last four games ...
