Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans (16-4-0-1) shutout the Brampton Beast (7-11-1-0) by a 6-0 score on Saturday night, before a crowd of 4,437 at Allen Event Center to remain six points up on second place Tulsa in the ECHL Central Division.
Aaron Dell playing in his first game back with the Americans, since being reassigned to Allen by the Americans AHL affiliate Worcester, earned the 18 save shutout, his first of the season with Allen, and the Americans second white-wash of the year. Gary Steffes scored twice for the Americans, his 15th and 16th goals of the season. Greger Hanson (12) Jamie Schaafsma (3) Trevor Ludwig (4) and Tyler Ludwig (4) also scored for the Americans.
"This is the best I've seen our team play all season," said Aaron Dell following the 6-0 victory. "The guys played great in front of me, and that made my job easier. This is by far one of the most complete wins of the season."
The Americans have now rattled off seven straight wins at home, dating back to November 16th, and have outscored teams during that stretch 38 to 9 on their home ice. Jack Combs, Jessie Messier, Jamie Schaafsma, Gary Steffes and Greger Hanson all had multiple point games, while Kevin Young finished the night at plus four.
The Americans are back home for Wichita and Tulsa next Friday and Saturday night, respectively, at Allen Event Center with both games getting underway at 7:05 pm . Tickets are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com or call (972) 912-1000 .
The next Allen Americans Radio Show is this coming Wednesday, December 17th at 6:30 pm at Game On Sports Bar and Grill on Stacy Road, just down the road from Allen Event Center.
