Preview: Warriors Open Five-Game Road Trip Tonight

THE STORY COMING IN: The Greenville Road Warriors (14-9-0), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, enter tonight's contest on a four-game win streak and in third place in the East Division - just three points shy of the top spot currently held by Florida. Last time out, the Road Warriors continued their dominance on SANDLAPPER Securities Rink with a 3-2 win over Cincinnati on Thursday. Jason Missiaen stopped a season-high 40 shots, while Michael St. Croix netted the game-winner with under eight minutes to play as the Road Warriors improved their home record to a league-best 7-1-0. Tonight, Greenville hits the road and looks to win its fifth straight game for the first time this season.

TRUE "ROAD" WARRIORS: The Warriors open their third-longest road trip of the season tonight, a five-game, four-city trek that runs through Dec. 20th. Along the way, Greenville will face, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Toledo and Wheeling - all teams the Road Warriors have seen at least one time this season. Overall, Greenville will play 20 of its first 28 games this season away from Bon Secours Wellness Arena. The Warriors' road record is 7-8-0 so far this year. Greenville went 17-15-4 on the road last season.

WARRIORS VS. STINGRAYS: Tonight's game marks the seventh of 14 meetings between the in-state rivals this season (eight in Greenville, six in North Charleston). Through six games, the series is currently dead even (3-3-0), with South Carolina taking each of the last three games in a row. In the last matchup, goaltender Adam Morrison stopped all 25 shots for his only shutout so far this season in a 2-0 Stingrays' win on Nov. 16th in North Charleston. The Warriors currently lead the all-time series 37-30-2.

VIEW FROM CHARLESTON: After beginning the season just 4-9-4 through the first 17 games, South Carolina (10-10-4) enters tonight's contest winners of six of its last seven and in a tie for fifth place in the East Division with Reading. Last time out, the Stingrays scored twice in the first eight minutes of the game to defeat Cincinnati 3-1 on Tuesday in North Charleston. Adam Morrison made 35 saves on 36 shots for his fifth win this season. South Carolina currently boasts the second best record in the division over its last 10 games (6-3-1), trailing only Florida (9-1-0).

OFFENSIVE SURGE: The Road Warriors have scored an impressive 22 goals in their last four contests combined (5.50 goals/game), which is three more than the team scored in each of its first seven games this season. With the boost in production, Greenville's offense now sits 12th in the league, scoring an average of 3.17 goals/game. The Road Warriors also boast a very balanced attack, as Grenville does not have a player in the top 58 in the league's scoring race. The Warriors are a perfect 13-0-0 when scoring at least three goals this season.

OFF ON THE RIGHT FOOT: The Warriors have enjoyed great success when getting off to a good start this season. Greenville is 10-1-0 when scoring the first goal and 7-0-0 when leading after the opening frame. The Road Warriors are also 9-0-0 when leading after two periods this season.

THIRD FRAME'S A CHARM: The third period has consistently been the Road Warriors' best frame this season, as the club has outscored opponents 29-21 in that frame and leads the league with four wins when trailing after two periods (4-8-0).
