PRINCE GEORGE, BC- The Prince George Cougars made two selections in the 2021 WHL U.S. Priority Draft Wednesday, selecting defenceman Yoonho (Roy) Chung and forward Nick McLennan.

Chung, who is U.S. - South Korean dual citizen, was chosen from the LA Jr. Kings 15's program in California. The 6'0," 161-pound defenceman is second in team scoring with 29 points (6g-23a) in 34 games. Chung was originally a forward and only made the switch to the blue line this season.

"Roy has only played hockey four years and but has tremendous upside. He is a real student of the game and a strong skater who is developing rapidly," said Cougars' Director of Scouting Bob Simmonds.

McLennan is originally from Edmonton, AB, but now calls Anchorage, AK home. The 5'9," 175-pound forward plays for Team Alaska 15U AAA. Last season, with Team Alaska's 14U AAA program, McLennan put up 21 points (12g-9a) in 32 games.

"Nick plays a hard game, and he is really physical; he's strong on pucks. He's a raw talent but has a heavy shot and his game has lots of room to grow," said Simmonds.

Players eligible for the 2021 WHL U.S. Priority Draft are 2006-born players who reside in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
