
Comeback Efforts Fall Just Short

Saturday, Wolf Pack 3 vs. DEVILS 2
Lowell battled back from a two-goal deficit in the third period thanks to goals scored 1:25 apart by Mike Pandolfo and Benoit Mondou. Artem Anisimov, however, tallied the game-winner with 3:46 remaining to seal the victory for the Wolf Pack. Zach Tarkir recorded assists on the both goals for the Devils. Jordan Parise made 22 saves in the loss.
Sunday, Admirals 2 vs. DEVILS 1
Once again, the Devils came back from an early deficit only to see Kyle Wanvig notch the deciding marker with 2:55 left in the contest. Trailing 1-0 in the second, Barry Tallackson's power play goal knotted the score at 2:43 of the period. Frank Doyle stopped 29 shots in the game, including 14 in a first period that saw Norfolk outshoot Lowell 15-3.
In the standings
Unable to come away with a point after a pair of games this weekend, the Devils now sit in seventh place in the Atlantic Division and looking to climb up the standings with four games on the docket this week. Lowell remains a point behind the Manchester Monarchs and only 10 points out of first place, occupied by the Philadelphia Phantoms.
Coming Up
The Devils continue their four-game home stand and a stretch that sees them play three of their next four at Tsongas Arena. Lowell will face the Portland Pirates on Wednesday, November 21 and then again on Sunday, November 25. The Pirates are ranked fourth in the Atlantic Division and are led by C Andrew Ebbett (5-15-20). Lowell and Portland split the first two of the ten-game season series including a 4-1 win for the Devils on their home ice on October 14. The Pirates are 2-3-1-1 on the road this season.
Lowell returns from the Thanksgiving holiday to battle the Albany River Rats for the first time at Tsongas Arena. On November 4, game one of four between the two teams went to the River Rats by a score of 5-2. Albany is averaging just 2.23 goals a game, but has allowed the second fewest goals (37) in the Eastern Conference.
The lone road game this week for Lowell will take place Saturday, November 24 versus the Hartford Wolf Pack. It will the Devils' first trip to Hartford this season. The Wolf Pack have won four straight thanks in part to G Al Montoya who is 3-0-0 over that span with a 2.33 GAA.
Around the Horns
- The Devils did not allow a power play opportunity on Saturday against the Hartford Wolf Pack, setting a team season-low with 2 penalty minutes. Lowell's only penalty came on a roughing call to Noah Clarke that was matched with a cross checking minor to Brodie ! Dupont.
- With a power play goal on Sunday against Norfolk, Barry Tallackson now has 3 goals in his last three games.
- Lowell came-from-behind to tie the score in both contests this past weekend.
- Benoit Mondou added a goal on Saturday night to give him four points (1g, 3a) in Lowell's last three games.
- Zach Tarkir recorded his first multi-point game of the season with 2 assists on Saturday against Hartford.
