Rochester improved to 8-8-1-2 after earning two points in a 5-4 win over the Rockford IceHogs on Friday night as part of a rare one-game weekend. The game was the first ever between the two teams.
Stefan Meyer and Rob Globke each netted a pair of goals to earn first and second star honors, respectively. Anthony Stewart provided Rochester's fifth goal to secure the win over the Hogs. Amerks netminder David Shantz made 31 saves in goal to earn his first win of the season.
Forward Mark Mancari leads Rochester's current roster offensively with two goals and 13 assists for 15 points. Mancari's 13 assists presently rank him first on the team and eighth in the AHL. Nine of his 13 assists have come on the man advantage this season, good enough for eighth in the league.
