Peoria Rivermen News Release
Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operation Kevin McDonald announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu and defenseman Ryan Glenn from the ECHL's Alaska Aces.
Beckford-Tseu returns to the Rivermen after starting the year 7-1-0 to lead the league in wins, plus posting a fourth-best 2.16 goals against average and a .927 save percentage, sixth among ECHL netminders. No stranger to the Rivermen or the AHL, the 6-2, 201-pound backstop appeared in 29 games for Peoria last season, posting a 12-11-4 mark, 2.72 GAA and .900 save percentage. The Toronto, Ontario native has a total of 47 games under his belt at the AHL level, and was a fifth round selection of the St. Louis Blues in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Glenn has already seen action with the Rivermen this season, appearing in the club's first three contests with no points and two minutes in penalties. Over the course of his career Glenn has appeared in 101 AHL games with four goals and 21 points, dating back to the 2004-05 Season as a member of the Hartford Wolf*Pack. Originally selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the fifth round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, The 6-2, 209-pound rearguard recorded a goal and nine points in 11 games with Alaska before his recall to Peoria.
Finally the club announced it has placed goaltender Juuso Riksman on team suspension.
The Rivermen will battle the Chicago Wolves in a home-and-home set this week starting Wednesday night at the Allstate Arena before returning home Friday night at 7 pm. Saturday the Rivermen are back on the road in the Quad Cities to take on the Flames - fans are welcome to head out on the second fan bus trip of the year! Call Mike Saurs to make reservations at (309) 673-3933. Cost per person is $30 and includes transportation up and back plus game ticket.
