Canucks Recall Brown; Re-assign Hansen to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have recalled forward Mike Brown and have re-assigned forward Jannik Hansen to Manitoba.

This is the first recall to the National Hockey League for Brown, 22, who has played in 17 games so far this season for the Moose. In that time, the Northbrook, IL native has scored two goals and an assist for three points. He is leading the Moose in penalty minutes with 69 and scored the game-winning goal for the Moose Nov. 15 vs. Grand Rapids. In 152 career games with Manitoba in the past three seasons, Brown has 12 goals and 21 points, along with 402 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by Vancouver with their fifth choice, 159th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Hansen, 21, appeared in five games with Vancouver since being recalled on Oct. 31/07. So far this season, the native of Harlev, Denmark played in one game for the Moose on Oct. 26/07 vs. Rockford. Last season, Hansen scored 12 goals and 34 points in 72 games in his rookie year with the Moose. In six Calder Cup playoff games, Hansen collected two penalty minutes. Hansen also played in 10 games during the Stanley Cup playoffs where he collected an assist. Hansen was originally drafted by Vancouver in the ninth round, 287th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
