Columbus Reassigns Jackman and Komarniski To Syracuse

Syracuse, NY (January 8, 2004) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned right wing Tim Jackman and defenseman Zenith Komarniski to the Crunch.

Jackman, 22, appeared in five games with Columbus this season, including his NHL debut on December 20 against Minnesota, without recording a point. In 29 games with Syracuse this season, Jackman has tallied 10 goals, 8 assists and 19 penalty minutes. A native of Minot, North Dakota, Jackman was drafted by Columbus with their second choice, 38th overall, in the 2001 Entry Draft.

Komarniski, 25, did not appear in any games since being recalled by Columbus on January 1. In 20 games with Syracuse, Komarniski has recorded 1 goal, 6 assists and 71 penalty minutes. A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Komarniski was acquired by Columbus from Vancouver for Sean Pronger on October 30, 2003.

Syracuse hosts Hershey on Friday, January 9 for East Syracuse Crunch Ice Scraper Night. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Crunch ice scraper, courtesy of East Syracuse Chevrolet. Saturday, January 10, the Crunch host the Rochester Americans.
