
Falcons Sign Billy Tibbetts

Springfield, MA â The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL) today announced that the club has signed right wing Billy Tibbetts. The forward will join the Falcons in time for the team's game versus the Philadelphia Phantoms at the Springfield Civic Center on Friday evening. Terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.
Tibbetts, 29, registered 23 points (7g, 16a) and 102 penalty minutes (PIM) in 16 games this season with the San Diego Gulls of the ECHL. The Boston native spent last season as a member of the New York Rangers' organization, skating 11 games with the NHL club and 35 contests with their AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack. Tibbetts posted 17 points (7g, 10a) and 172 PIM with Hartford.
For his career, Tibbetts has recorded 85 points (34g, 51a) and 550 PIM in 97 AHL games with Hartford and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The 6'2", 215-pound forward has 82 games of NHL experience with the Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, and Pittsburgh Penguins, collecting 10 points (2g, 8a) and 269 PIM.
