January 8, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, New York â The Binghamton Senators, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced today that right wing Josh Langfeld and defenseman Julien Vauclair have been named to the PlanetUSA squad that will take on the Canadian All-Stars in the Pepsi AHL All-Star Classic to be played February 9th at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI.
It will be the first appearance in AHL all-star competition for both Langfeld and Vauclair and marks the second consecutive season that three Binghamton Senators will appear in the mid-season contest as goaltender Ray Emery was named to the Canadian roster on Wednesday.
Langfeld is the second-leading goal scorer (12) and point producer (24) in 28 games this season with the Senators. The power forward's four power play goals ties him for the team lead . The third year pro from the University of Michigan assembled a career-best six-game point-scoring streak between October 24th and November 8th of this season with two goals and nine points during that span. The Coon Rapids, MN native has appeared in three games with the Ottawa Senators this season.
Vauclair, a Swiss-born 24-year old defender, makes his debut in professional all-star competition with a combination of speed and puck handling skill. With a goal and 11 assists, his 12 points ties him for the team lead in scoring among Sens' blueliners. Like Langfeld, Vauclair has seen limited duty with the parent club in Ottawa, making his NHL debut October 25th against the Montreal Canadiens in his only action with the O-Sens.

The All-Star weekend in Grand Rapids will include the annual AHL Skills Competition on Sunday, February 8th, followed by the Pepsi AHL All-Star Classic Monday, February 9th.
