Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, New York – The Binghamton Senators announced today that left wing Mike Brown has been signed to a 25-game professional tryout agreement (PTO).

The 6'4, 220 forward was a first round pick (20th overall) of the Florida Panthers in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.

Brown, 24, had appeared in 21 games with the St. John's Maple Leafs earlier this season with three goals and six points along with 74 PIM before his release from the organization. In 150 career AHL contests, Brown has 26 goals and 33 assists for 59 points and 598 PIM.

In his final three years in the Western Hockey League, Brown averaged 23 goals and 278 penalty minutes per season between Red Deer and Kamloops.

Brown will join the club in time for tomorrow night's game versus Albany as the Sens kick off a stretch of three divisional games in three nights.

In conjunction with the signing of Brown, center Dan Riva was released from his 25-game PTO. In five games with Binghamton, Riva failed to register a point and accumulated 17 PIM.

Tickets for the Albany game and a limited number for Saturday's match against the Philadelphia Phantoms are now on sale at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Center Ice Team Shop at Metrocenter, the Arena box office, the Sens executive offices, or call the Sens Hotline (8:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday) at 722-SENS (7367).
