Cleveland Monsters Announce 2020-21 Regular-Season Schedule Presented by SeatGeek
January 22, 2021 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Cleveland Monsters News Release
CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Monsters announced Friday the team's 2020-21 regular-season schedule presented by SeatGeek, the club's official ticketing partner. This year marks the Monsters' 14th season in the AHL and sixth campaign as the top affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets.
Under the guidance of veteran head coach Mike Eaves entering his second season with the club, Cleveland begins the campaign on the road on Friday, February 5th at 7:00 p.m. versus the Rockford IceHogs with the team's home opener scheduled for on Friday, February 12th at 7:00 p.m. versus the Rochester Americans at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. An in-depth breakdown of the complete schedule is included below.
Due to the AHL's temporary divisional realignments, the Monsters will return to the Central Division for the first time since the 2017-18 season and will face the Chicago Wolves, Grand Rapids Griffins, Rockford IceHogs and Texas Stars this year. Cleveland will also compete this season against their closest rival geographically, the North Division's Rochester Americans.
The State of Ohio recently approved an attendance variance request from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse permitting the Monsters to host up to 10% of the arena's total seating capacity for games, allowing the team to admit just under 2,000 fans per game. Seat placement for games will begin with Monsters Hockey Club Members, with all other possible ticket opportunities being announced at a later date. The team's broadcast and promotional schedules will be released in the coming weeks.
