
Carl Crawford Scheduled to Rehab with the Sea Dogs on Tuesday

Portland, Maine- Boston Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford is scheduled to make a rehab appearance for the Portland Sea Dogs on Tuesday, July 3rd at 6:00 PM at Hadlock Field when the Sea Dogs take on the Trenton Thunder, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. Crawford will wear uniform # 13.
The 30 year-old, Crawford has been sidelined for the entire 2012 season as a result of left wrist surgery and a sprained UCL in his left elbow. He has made five rehab appearances with the Gulf Coast League Red Sox hitting .214 (3-for-14) with two runs scored. The veteran has spent ten seasons in the Major Leagues and is a four time American League All-Star including earning All-Star MVP honors in the 2009 midsummer classic. In 2010 he captured both a Louisville Silver Slugger award and a Rawlings Gold Glove award. He has a career Major League batting average of .293 with 115 home runs and 427 stolen bases.
After spending his first 12 professional seasons in the Tampa Bay Rays organization Crawford signed with the Red Sox as a free agent on December 10, 2010. In his first season with the Red Sox, Crawford hit .255 with 11 home runs, 56 RBI, and 18 stolen bases.
