On Monday night at Metro Bank Park, the Senators rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat Erie 8-5. Destin Hood hit a three-run home run, and drove in the go ahead run with a sacrifice fly giving the Sens the win. The deficit was the largest overcome this year for a Senators win.
Erie scored five times in the first two innings off Sens' starter Paul Demny. In the first, Jordan Lennerton hit a three-run home run and Michael Rockett added a two-run shot in the second giving Erie their 5-0 lead.
Harrisburg started their rally in the fourth inning when Eury Perez singled, Jeff Kobernus singled, and then with one out, Chris Rahl drove in Perez with a single to left trimming the deficit to 5-1. Hood then unloaded a three-run home run making the score 5-4 Erie.
With the score still 5-4 Erie, Harrisburg rallied for four runs in the seventh inning. Jesus Valdez tripled Kobernus to tie the game. Hood then drove in Valdez with the lead run with a sacrifice fly and on the play, Chris Rahl, who had been hit by a pitch, took second. Rahl then stole third and then scored on a wild pitch.
