
Naturalization Day at New Britain Stadium

New Britain Rock Cats News Release
On Tuesday July 3rd at 6:00 fans will be filing through the gates at New Britain Stadium in anticipation of the holiday week contest between the Rock Cats and the visiting Bowie Baysox, the Eastern League affiliate of the American League's Baltimore Orioles. Prior to the 7:05 PM ball game - the Rock Cats and the Hartford Field Office of the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) will be at home plate as a US Federal District Court Judge issues the Oath of Allegiance to 20 Connecticut residents. Representing twelve different countries of origin, these enthusiastic people will become US citizens at a Naturalization Ceremony that will commence at home plate at 6:15 PM and conclude some 30 minutes later. Join us for the ball game - America's Pastime and come early to witness 2012's version of the American Dream! Once the Oath is delivered, these new US citizens will join us on the mound for a ceremonial First Pitch . This is a great way to celebrate our country's independence.
This celebration of diversity and renewal is a reminder of the American Dream lived by many of our parents and grandparents is as alive and inspiring for these new citizens as it was for our ancestors 100 years ago. America continues to be the world's beacon of hope for a better life and what better place to celebrate that.
Representative Peter Tercyak 26 th District New Britain will be our Guest Speaker. Representative Tercyak is Chairman of the Human Services Committee of the Connecticut House of Representatives. Also, speaking on behalf of Connecticut Congressman Chris Murphy will be his Assistant Joanne Cannon.
This patriotic event at the stadium on Tuesday evening also includes a post game fireworks show presented by Xfinity and a "Stars and Stripes" ticket and Bar-B-Q package. The package includes 4 General Admission tickets and access to the All You Can Eat BBQ for only $50.00.
