Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club drafted 10 players today in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft including six forwards, three defencemen and a goalie.

With the team's first pick, 22nd overall, the Hitmen selected center Chase Clayton from the AAA Bantam Abbotsford Hawks.

"We didn't have a lot of picks in the top rounds, but we think we've made some quality selections," said Hitmen Head Scout Brad Whelen. "With our first round pick Chase Clayton we've drafted a hard working well rounded player who has good offensive skills and top end speed."

"It's a total honor being drafted by Calgary because there is so much history with the Hitmen," said Clayton. "Ryan Getzlaf, Brett Sonne, Brandon Kozun and Kyle Bortis are just a few great players."
